  • Hello! I am Subhashini Narayan, a certified counsellor holding a private practice in Kalyan Nagar-Banaswadi, Bangalore . Over the years of my practice, I have come to prefer the term 'Integrative Therapist' as a way of referring to myself.
  • The word 'Integrative' , for me, implies that I aim to weave together my rich experiences from having trained in various modalities, to suit each individual based on their needs, life contexts and lived experiences. Some of my professional trainings include a certification in Systemic Theory and Practice in Family Constellation with Spanda (Bangalore) and Ochre (Ireland), certifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Theta Healing and Queer Affirmative Counseling. I am also currently pursuing a training in Clinical Hypnotherapy at the EKAA foundation and Somatic Experiencing International professional Training.
  • My formal education, however, has been in a whole other sphere! I hold a Master Degree in Zoology, where I specialised in understanding human anatomy and physiology. I also hold an M.phil., in Biotechnology. I began my career as a teacher at Mount Carmel College, nurturing and guiding young adults for over 10 years. I’ve always been passionate about helping young adults access their inner strength and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to do this in my role as a teacher. Post my teaching stint, I went on to become a trainer and educator in the field of sexuality and life skills with Enfold Proactive Health Trust for over 9 years. I have extensive experience with training teachers (trained over 2000 teachers) in life skills, sexuality and child/adolescence psychology thereby enhancing their professional awareness and growth. I have conducted sessions on gender sensitisation/empowerment, assertiveness, child welfare and personal safety, child sexual abuse awareness and prevention.
  • All of the above experiences in their own unique ways have contributed to developing my philosophy as an Integrative Therapist.
  • I believe that the inner self is constantly in touch with the outer world and that one’s connection with the inner self affects this interaction with the outside world. The deeper you go into yourself, the closer you are to the larger world. The more empathetic you are with yourself, you become kinder and more empathetic to the world. My work revolves around the same, and I guide individuals in finding their inner strength to strike the right balance between the two worlds. Through my work and years of practice, I have learnt the importance of operating in an open and inclusive space.
  • Above all, I work to support the autonomy of the individuals, enabling balance, coherence and wellness in a relationship based on safety, trust, respect, curiosity, openness, love, compassion and acceptance.
